CISPA Needs Privacy Safeguards

(WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, and other Democratic House members sent a letter to Reps. Mike J. Rogers (R-MI) and C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD), Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, regarding privacy concerns in H.R. 3523, the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011" (CISPA), set to be considered by the House of Representatives later this week. The letter urges them to address the real and serious privacy concerns voiced by concerned Americans, privacy advocacy groups, and colleagues in Congress.
