Congressional Hispanic Caucus Will Hold Press Conference on New Hurricane Maria Mortality Numbers, Recovery Effort in Puerto Rico
(WASHINGTON) On Wednesday, June 6th at 9:30 a.m. ET, Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC) will host a press conference to bring attention to the new mortality numbers, released by Harvard University that drastically increased the estimated number of deaths caused by Hurricane Maria and the ongoing recovery effort in Puerto Rico.
Although eight months have passed since Hurricane Maria made landfall, millions of Puerto Ricans are still without power or water. The President’s administration has been slow to deliver needed aid to the more than three million Americans who live on the island.
