Reps. Underwood, Jackson-Lee, and Green to Hold Virtual Forum to Discuss Health Disparities and the Coronavirus Pandemic
(WASHINGTON) – On Thursday, May 7th, Reps. Lauren Underwood (D-IL), Sheila Jackson-Lee, and Al Green (D-TX) will hold a virtual forum on healthcare disparities – which have been further exposed by the country’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Last week, the Democratic members of the Committee wrote the Department of Health and Human Service’s Office of the Inspector General on this problem. Reps. Underwood, Jackson Lee, and Green will be joined Samantha Artiga, Director of the Disparities Policy Project at the Kaiser Family Foundation and Michelle A. Williams, Dean of the Faculty at Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This event will be streamed live.
