TODAY: Hearing on Examining Title 42 and Restoring Asylum at the Border
(WASHINGTON) – Today, April 6th at 1:30pm, the Subcommittee on Border Security, Facilitation, and Operations, chaired by Rep. Nanette Diaz Barragán (D-CA), will hold a hearing to examine the necessity of ending Title 42 and reinstating access to asylum at the border, including how Title 42 is an unsustainable and ineffective border management tool with a disproportionate impact on Black and Brown migrants, the negative consequences on asylum-seeking migrants, the lack of a public health rationale for the policy, and potential solutions that could help the Department of Homeland Security restore our nation’s asylum process in a just, humane, and orderly manner.
This hearing will be streamed live on YouTube and on our website.
