Chairs Thompson, Clarke Statement on President Biden’s Action to Secure Critical Infrastructure Control Systems
(WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (D-NY), Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, & Innovation, released the below statement on President Biden releasing the National Security Memorandum on Improving Cybersecurity for Critical Infrastructure Control Systems:
"The American people have waited four long years for strong, consistent White House leadership to defend U.S. networks against cyber attacks, and the Biden Administration has delivered. Our adversaries have made no secret of their ambitions to target U.S. critical infrastructure. President Biden is bringing the full weight of the Federal government to bear to partner with the private sector protect our economic and national security. I commend the President for his dogged attention to our cybersecurity challenges and for taking meaningful action to better defend our critical infrastructure."
