Thompson, Rose Write DHS on Coronavirus Intelligence Reports

(WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Chairman of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Rep. Max Rose (D-NY), Chairman of the Intelligence and Counterterrorism Subcommittee, sent a letter to Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Chad Wolf asking for information on any COVID-19-related intelligence that was consumed and disseminated by DHS in late 2019 and early 2020, and what, if any, operational changes were made in response to that intelligence. Recent press reporting has suggested that the Intelligence Community was issuing reports on the growing contagion as early as November 2019, with relevant intelligence included in the President’s Daily Brief many times in early 2020.
