THURSDAY: Roundtable with National Security Experts on the 9/11 Attacks Twenty Years Later
(WASHINGTON) – On Thursday, September 2nd, the Committee on Homeland Security, chaired by Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), will hold a virtual roundtable discussion with national security experts and academics who have studied the causes, responses, and consequences of the September 11, 2001 attacks for the past two decades. The purpose of this roundtable is to discuss the history and context of the 9/11 attacks – particularly questions about that day, the country’s response, the shift in our institutions, including the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, and changes in American society that can now be more fully addressed with twenty years of hindsight.
This virtual roundtable will be streamed live on YouTube and on our website.
