TOMORROW @ 10AM: Hearing on DHS’ Management of Trusted Traveler Programs
(WASHINGTON) – Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 30th, the Subcommittee on Border Security, Facilitation, & Operations, chaired by Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY), will hold a hearing examining the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) management of trusted travelers programs. Members will question Robert Perez, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Deputy Commissioner, regarding the inaccurate and misleading testimony provided to the Committee by senior Departmental officials after residents of New York State were summarily singled out and banned from trusted traveler programs, including Global Entry, earlier this year. DHS has refused to make available other department officials with whom the Committee has requested transcribed interviews.
