TOMORROW @ 2PM: Hearing on the Increase in Firearms Intercepted at TSA Checkpoints
(WASHINGTON) – Tomorrow, February 15th, the Subcommittee on Transportation & Maritime Security, chaired by Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), will hold a hearing entitled, “Concealed Carry-Ons: Confronting the Surge in Firearms at TSA Checkpoints.” The purpose of this hearing is to engage with airport operations, labor, and law enforcement leaders regarding the recent surge in firearms intercepted by TSA at airport checkpoints. Members will address the causes of this increase in incidents, as well as examine potential actions TSA could take to mitigate this increase in risk to passengers and transportation workers.
