Thompson Statement on "Best Places to Work" Survey

(WASHINGTON) - Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, released the following statement regarding the Partnership for Public Service report on The Best Places to Work in the Federal Government:

Unfortunately, this survey shows that DHS, once again, ranks as the worst large Federal agency to work for – and ranks at or near the bottom in almost every sub category. In March 2013, DHS will have its 10th anniversary. Surely after 10 years, its employees deserve a workplace that has fair procedures and where pay and promotions are not determined by personal relationships. Given these factors, it is no surprise that of all Federal employees, DHS employees have the least respect for their senior leaders and managers. I would welcome the opportunity to work with Secretary Napolitano to help create solutions for these deeply ingrained problems at DHS.
