TOMORROW @ 10AM: Joint Hearing on DHS’s Role in Combatting Ransomware

(WASHINGTON) – Tomorrow, November 17th, the Subcommittee on Intelligence & Counterterrorism, chaired by Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and the Subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Protection, and Innovation, chaired by Rep. Yvette D. Clarke (D-NY) will hold a joint hearing to examine DHS’s contributions to Federal efforts to counter ransomware attacks given the prioritized attention that the Biden Administration has been giving this homeland security challenge. This hearing will also give Members the opportunity to learn about how entities within DHS collaborate on counter-ransomware efforts and to discuss any gaps in current law that may undermine cybersecurity, including the need for mandatory reporting of certain significant cybersecurity incidents.
